Insurance on a Class C

Would love some info. on the who, what and where you are doing for Insurance on a motor-home. Questioning whether I should go thru my local agent who we have our cars with or someone who specializes in Motorhomes? Also curious to know if anyone deals on-line? FYI--I will consider switching my car insurance to get a better deal. Any info. will be greatly appreciated.
  • I checked out prices online and ended up liking progressive (not their commercials just their prices). I have them for my business vehicles so I called my agent, their quote was $200 more than the Progressive website so my agent said just go direct to Progressive for the RV. I did. Appreciate an agent that has my best interest in mind.
  • National Interstate Ins. specializes in RV Insurance.......all types/all coverage levels
They will also insurance vehicles provided they are insuring the RV

We checked ALL RV insurance when we went FT....Progressive, GS/CW, Foremost, Blue Sky etc. National Interstate had the best cost/coverage for what we wanted.

Just remember to compare coverage to coverage. And that insurance is based on driving record, age of vehicles, cost of vehicles, address, credit score/report etc. so it can get confusing.
  • I would suggest that you check with your local agent first. If that doesn't work shop around for the best rates on ALL your vehicles. We have Geico for all our vehicles and pay about $360 per year for our 03 Class C.

I find I get the best price with the most coverage using Progressive RV Online. I've used them for several different Class C motorhomes, and their rates are usually half of what my local insurance broker quotes me.
