King Throttle Control

I have no throttle. As a result, the transmission will not operate. The engine can be throttled by hand. The foot control is dead. It does not have an electronic engine. I have the manual for the control, but it does not cover the problem. My motorhome is a 1998 Country Coach with a 325 Cummings engine. The people at Stewart & Stevenson in Pueblo, CO could not determine the problem. We are now at Transwest in Fountain, CO where they are trying to diagnose the problem. Any thoughts? First hand info on similar problems would be appreciated. May have to spend the weekend in their parking lot, as we have no tow car.
Thanks in advance.

  • This information is a couple of years old, but if you can get ahold of Steve, he IS the guru on the King Control units:

    King Control. Steve Boler. 22250 Glyview Trail, Faribault MN 55021, 507-334-0250 try 952 944-9644 FIRST. Steve@cruisecontrolking.com www.cruisecontrolking.com
  • Google Cruise King. I believe they are in Minnesota. I had the same issue with my '97 Dynasty with the 325 Cummins. The shop that did the repairs for me sent the cruise control box back to Cruise King and they rebuilt it. works perfectly now.
  • It's a Cummins BTW.
Cummings may be a cheap off-shore knockoff. ;)
  • KING search

Pretty sure the 2600 is what was used by CC. Further down in the search there are links to conversations about CC and King. :) :)

Another search shows you freed it with a hammer last year...maybe you will get lucky again.
  • I don't have it in front of me but as I recall there is an excellent troubleshooting thread for the King Control units in the forums. If you have not already done so, search the forum for the topic.
