Looking for my first 40 ft diesel pusher

I have a max of 100,000 to spend on my first diesel pusher. I have been looking at adds for Newmar and Monaco. A Winnebego 2004 Journey Series M-39K has been advertised with three slides. My belief is that a 4 slide unit will have less depreciation than a three slide. Would I be ahead buying a 4 slide unit that may be less depreciation and what do you think of the Winnebego Journey Series M-39K? As usual thanks for anyone that has knowledge of what I am trying to do.

Agree about the depreciation angle - do not be overly concerned. Buy what seems right for your needs. For $100K you should be able to get a hell of a nice 7-10 year old coach. Just don't forget the after-sale expenses - if your state has a property or sales tax on that 100K it could be a big chunk of change. In New Jersey, land of high taxes, my $80K coach cost another $5 grand in sales tax....

I would not worry about resale - make sure that the floor plan works for you. If three slides give you the room that you want, then go for it.

I sold My MH in May, I will be buying again in the spring, when I do I will not be worrying about depreciation, I love the MH life style not worried what I can get out of it 3 or 4 years from now. Roy

If you are worrying about the amount of depreciation between a 3 or 4 slide MH (if any difference) you do not want to know the amount regardless of the number of slides. I would be concerned about the amount of CCC that a 04 40' DP does not have with a single rear axle and 3-4 slides.
For $100K you can find a MH like mine.

You may want to throw the American Tradition into the works as well. I would look for an 04 or 05 unit. As you can tell by me sig I'm a bit biased, but I've had a gas Mountain Aire and the Tradition is a much better coach.

I would look at Fleetwood Revolutions too. For $100K, you would be in the 2005-6 range. You would want an LE.
We love ours,
Winnebago made a good coach then too. At that age, it is all about maintance records and condition. Get a high original quality coach and you will be happy.
