Metal Valve extenders - TST tire monitoring sensors?

My Born Free Class C 24 ft has extended valves on the rear dual tires but they are some type of braided extension braced at the tip with a piece of solid metal with a hole in it. This brace looks like a manufactured type of brace.

For those of you who use the TST TPMS tire monitoring system, do you think this type of extended valve would be sufficient? I will purchase the metal valve extenders if need be but I worry about getting them installed properly. I assume metal valve extenders provide a solid base for the sensors.

Phoenix AirMax are the model of tire stem extenders used by Born Free. Because of the dual rear wheels and the Phoenix wheel extenders, you really do need the stem extenders -- especially with the inner tires.

We haven't had any problems with ours; we use the TireMinder TPMS rather than the TST, but other Leap'n Lions report success with theirs.

My concern would not be the TST monitors. Would be the braided extenders. You don't have to use the "airless" ones, that don't depress the valve core at the rim till you push a gauge onto them. After all, the monitors will keep the core "pushed." Just be sure your extenders are firmly attached to METAL valves at the rims. Also be sure your wheel simulators (if that's what you have) are solidly mounted to the wheels. No "push-ons" here! Can't lose a sim and have it take the extender and your air with it.

I have been using the TST monitors for almost 3 years on braided metal extenders without problems. The extentions are attached to the outer wheel with a metal clip that keeps them in place.

Thank you for your reply. I plan to install the TST tire monitoring system for peace of mind. I'm not certain if the metal extenders are 'required' or simply recommended for the sensors and thought I'd ask. The sensors thread onto the air valves and I wondered if the metal extenders are needed for stability.

I believe what you are describing are valve extenders to reach the inside dual tire easily for checking and adding pressure when needed. I am not sure if tire pressure monitors are needed with the set up you have.
