new awning

I am going to install a new awning today that was ordered from awningsrvmart.com, the instructions on cover putting the cord end in with the valence, nothing about pre tensioning the spring and sliding it in the track at the top of the MH. Have any of you done this and could link me to some good instructions please?

Youtube had some good video's which helped, BUT got it all together only to find out that the locking mechanism won't hold. Once we set the tension, we picked it up to slide the top into the channel it completely unrolled, tried 3 times but won't hold. Have to order some parts now

2 person job, careful of that spring end, you can be HURT. Slide top and bottom in at the same time. You may want to drill the pop rivets out at the opposite end of the roller...then you won't have to worry about the spring end. After the awning is in place, put a screw in the rail at each end of the awning material so it does not move back and forth. Put the end back on using pop rivets or screws. Others will have some good advice as well.

I've never done it but from all I've read it is a two or three person job, depending on awning size.
