New Palazzo 35.1 Day 1 Problems

Waiting on Thor to send a tech to reseal the window. My gut instinct tells me the leak is coming from higher above. It looks like a seal tech test will be next.

So what happened?

don't just caulke the window it needs to taken out and resealed caulking it wont work for long,the window settled in on your trip home you really need to let CW fix it,

I think he said it never rained and the major problem hit when it rained. Others have wondered why it was not water tested and it really seems bizarre they would miss that step. The buyer wants a perfect coach when he buys new. Not a wrong expectation. If there is a problem he doesn't want water gushing in on the first rain. A small drip maybe and it can be fixed but much water shouldn't happen. Winnebago had a problem with Vista's a few years ago when the fresh water tanks would eject water through the overflow tube. It was identified after quite a bit of driving. They recalled and fixed. I was missing a couple of screws in trim molding on the outside. No big deal but irritating. It is new and I think should be perfect. I don't do my work just pretty good. I have had nothing major but if I do on my new Winnebago on order I will let people know. Before this******started I had the Pallazzo high on my list to look at and test drive. Crossed it off. I hate dirt on the dash.

I think I would have a glass shop repair the leak. I have caulked leaks and they tend to move. With the new adhesives they use on windshields the only way to really fix it is to remove window and fix the root cause.

No, I cleaned that dirt off. :) I should correct the title, I meant day 1 at home. I don't consider the two days I spent on the road because that's the amount of time it would have taken to deliver the unit to my local CW.

The title of this thread is misleading. The OP states that he stayed at the factory and some minor problems resolved. The OP THEN drove the coach 1000 miles (over how long?) then encountered two new problems. These problems were not observed on day 1. After traveling any distance, problems can manifest. Every time I drive my coach new (mostly minor) issues become apparent just due to nature of motion on the road, from doors coming open to rattles being heard. The major flaws with the original coach seem to have been corrected in this coach. How many more times will we hear about issues developing with this coach? I'm sure Thor will be responsible for dirt accumulation on the dashboard too! JM2...

Yes, QC needs to be improved, but honestly, the two things while irritating, are fairly normal and easily fixed.

Responses like this doesn't help with the RV industry fix there problems. When people think that this type of issue is "NORMAL" then why would the RV industry improve their QC and build practices?

I just don't understand why people think this way when your dropping thousands of $$$ to purchase an RV.....

If you think the "whining" that is going on, on this "little" forum is going to change the way Thor builds RV's, you are in la la land. Look at their stock http://ir.thorindustries.com/stock-information/interactive-stock-chart-historical-price/default.aspx. Is is on the way up with no decline in sight. All you are doing is taking up bandwidth. :B
