Wanting to buy a new Roadmaster tow bar. Where is the cheapest place you found to buy one?
Thanks for all comments

You could send me a PM -- we can talk!
  • I have an original Stowmaster 5000 towbar that is 22yr. old. I have had the Roadmaster factory in Vancouver WA. overhaul it 4 times, the latest 2 yr. ago. Not once have they mentioned that "it is too old and should be replaced".

The original towbar I have has a round chromium centre bar where as the newer versions have stainless steel, the diameter of which is considerably smaller than the original chromium one. The rest of the towbar looks the same.

P.S. In 1992 when I first purchased the towbar, I had to visit the Roadmaster factory (which was near the Portland airport then) for a new safety chain, they took the towbar unit and welded extra corner gussets to the frame to strenghthen it.
  • There is a used one for sale near Nanaimo BC on Kijijij

The Tow Bars are excellent !
  • How about this. When buying used is there anything to look for as far as wear goes? I found a couple on CL and the prices are really good. I just don't want to buy junk!
  • try etrailer.com

My Roadmaster is even older than yours

The cheapest place that I seen was at the big tent in Quartzsites, AZ. in mid Jan. Roadmaster has all there experts at that show! I bought mine from a welding shop in Tacoma WA. Great tow bar I'm going on my 15th year with mine!

What started me looking was I called Roadmaster to send in my old one to get it look at and repaired if needed. When I told them it was 10 years old they said if it was 10 years old or 70,000 miles it was time for a new one.
  • I bought two from Adventurerv.net. I bought the Blackhawk All Terrain II (10,000 lb) and also a Stowmaster. They had the best price I could find. Received them in a couple of day with no problems. The Stowmaster was missing a small piece, I call them and they sent it overnight.
