The Fantastic fan will seal to the roof just as well as the existing vent does. One alternative though, if you're still concerned about it, would be to upgrade your existing vent by installing a "Vortex II 5-speed Fan Upgrade". Since it leaves the existing vent frame and cover in place, the existing seal is not disturbed. I installed on of these in our previous coach. It worked quite well without a lot of noise.
