Newmars motorhomes Class A

My brother is looking to buy a used diesel Newmar class A. Does anyone know of anything he should be on the look out for or problems with either a gas or diesel engine? Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank You so much. I have fallen behind in my up to date information.
  • Our 2004 Newmar Dutch Star served us very well for 10 of our full-timing years. We kept all service records and they went to the new buyer - an important issue.
  • years back Newmar had two grades of corian ? countertops. one was a very thin laminate and some brand new units on the lot already showed cracks at the sink corners, etc.
also, they had one diesel chassis that had less CC than my Ford gas chassis.

  • This is a case of "care in the past" every used motorhome is a Pandoria's box. The past service records are a biggie
  • I can't really comment specific to Newmars but I can say I get on a lot of forums And Newmar seems to be the everyone compares to. Check for leaks, waterstains,Woodrot. Make sure to take it for a good test drive getting it up to 65-70 checking for vibration. Also look at the service records. No RV is going to be perfect, even new so keep that in mind.
  • check the windshield is set properly in the front cap and gasket.
  • If would probably be helpful if you indicate the year and model of the Newmar.

We had a 93 Gasser Kountry Star, we loved it, but it only had one slide. We traded it for our current rig.
