Normal electric KWH used by the coach when camping

I just bought a class A coach, & while researching campgrounds in Florida, all the campgrounds provided a rate per month + metered electric service extra.
I have not found any answers yet, so here we go...
How much electric will the average class A coach consume per month?

Thanks in advance for your help.:)

  • At home I can keep my electric bill to $50.00/month or I can run it to $200.00/month. The same goes for an RV. If you run an electric heater the bill goes up. If you use your propane heater the bill goes down but now you have to buy propane.
  • As mentioned, electric heat, air conditioning, electric fridge are probably your 3 biggest users. Most metered service is $10.00 fixed charge (or more) before you use a single kilowatt. Lighting can add up if not LED or fluorescent bulbs. There also is probably a fuel adjustment factor. Here at home fixed portion is $9.60, base rate per kilowatt hour is .059, plus a per-kilowatt fuel adjustment that varies, last month about .03 per kwh.

On average $75 to $100/month. Hard to get it below $50 on FPL.
  • We paid an average of $75 per month. We did not need the AC hardly at all that time of year. We put the refrigerator on propane and have diesel hydronic furnace. We did not use the washer and dryer in the RV and we don't use the convection oven hardly at all.
  • Your two largest uses will be electric heat or air conditioning if you use them. If you don't use either one, then your electric bill will be rather small.

  • The only time I had to pay for electric on a meter was early summer running the air, water heater, fridge, hot plate, microwave, etc. It cost me $90 for the month. I pay a flat rate in the present park of $5 a day for 50 amp service.
  • Also depends on where you park it. We're paying $45 a month fixed rate at the 1000 Trails Orlando park, because there's no meter on our post. I'm guessing that if it were metered, it would probably be about the same. They're not about to give it away. :)

We rented a month in Palm Springs (January) a couple years ago where usage was metered - paid just under $30 for that month.

Rented a week in Arizona a coupe years ago and the metered power was around $15.

Call some parks you're interested in and ask what a typical charge would be.

  • It depends on your useage of course.

You will get a good idea after a couple of months. I would plan on $75 to $125 or there abouts.
