Oil Change For A Diesel

The 'kids' had to replace a toilet switch and a LED light under warranty while we were at the ETLC 'know your Prevost' seminar. Very professional, taking their shoes off when entering the coach and being careful not to scratch anything.

They have an excellent teacher.

When in doubt, always get prices ahead of time. This includes an estimate of the job they're getting ready to do. The labor rate per hour or job should be in there too.

My wife has often baked my birthday cake and brought it to the restaurant in advance of a birthday dinner. They typically charge a cutting fee. They seemed very happy to have our business.

The important thing to note is to call and discuss this with the business in advance. If you want to supply your own parts, just don't show up with them in hand. Call and speak to the manager and explain why you'd like to use your parts. If it's a question of cost, maybe they can discount their parts. If it's some other reason such as a specialty part they don't carry or you want to rotate out your parts, they will surely understand. Communications is the key.

Our local upscale restaurants do allow bringing your own wine.
The will charge you a service fee for it, but it is legal.
I understand that you will have no parts warranty when you bring your own part, but refusing the service is bad bussines.

Well I never carry a spare oil filter as how many emergency oil changes are you ever going to be required to do and the conversation was about oil filters. Now I do carry spare fuel filters and will usually rotate but my spares are kept in sealed containers to help in longevity. I also like my bananas very fresh almost green.:)

All Prevost drivers ain't named Trump........some of us are on a retirement budget and normally do shop around.
(I was pulled in by the hype and made my very first mistake..:R)

I'm checking out a local CIT trucking company....rated ok by Prevost. Needing shocks and airbags to start.

If you are on a budget, why didn't you ask what the service prices were before you committed to the job?

And, if the tech's are young, does that mean they are not qualified?

Your post just seemed to attack the business owner vs. a gentleman's discussion.

I truly hope that you find a good place for service.

I had been reading your posts on the other site for a long time, it's seems the last one was just 'so-far-out-there', it didn't seem like it was you writing them.

I attacked no one......just stating the situation as it happened to me.
I'll admit I was drawn in by the hype and failed to ask prices.
I'm more apt to ask prices for repairs. Oil changes/ prices have never varied this much at all the 'other' shops?

Young techs?.......no way one gets to be a top notch tech in a year and a half. A good mechanic takes years to develop to a point of 'stand alone'.
We've all seen guys with years of experience who weren't worth their salt.

I'm only letting people know that IMHO Venore is highly over rated. Unless you are mad at your money, or have more than you can walk around........avoid the place.

That's the message....do with it what you will.

We also carried extra fuel filter's just as you did Holstein13. I would rotate the 'extra's and buy new ones to hold until the next change which was about once a year.

We never had a problem with the 'one-year-old' filters.

Currently, I don't have extra's for the new coach, it's on the list to pick up.
