Oil texture coming from ceiling

Question

Hello. I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty. On the inside ceiling near the drivers seat and the cabinet which holds the TV is an area that keeps growing and does not seem to be water but an oily texture. I have had water damage and believe this is not water. I also cleaned the ceiling with carpet cleaner (the ceiling is carpeted and has been called "mouse fur") as I have done before with water spots and it did not clean but got worst. I have been on the roof to check for leak areas and there are none. Does anyone have any idea what this staining may be from especially that it does not seem to be water?

Could be mold.  Only way to truly tell is probably to remove the carpet (mouse fur) and see what's behind it.

Do you have the recessed mounted TV above the drivers/pass seat? That is electrically operated up and down?  If so, it may be that heavy duty motor casing. I  had a 2007 model that had that problem. The transmission part of the gear case leaked its oil. Doug

The TV is directly above the drivers seat but it is not electronically maneuvered but manually moved.  Thank you for the suggestion though.
