Onan 5.5 Gas Generator Hours
How many hours are a lot? On my 7.5kw diesel I could go 10,000 hours plus, with regular maintenance. How many hours can I expect to get out of the gas genny before rebuild/replacement? I have about 200 on it now.

- They're well-made by Onan. There used to be a guy on here that worked on them quite a bit. "Gunny" something was his forum name, if I recall correctly.
I take good care of ours. Just changed the oil on our trip the other day. Do that, plugs, and filters regularly and they will treat you well.
I'll check my hours next time I go out to the moho. - The issue with the life expectancy of any quality generator these days isn't the engine: it's the generation system. You should reasonably expect 10,000+ hours out of any properly maintained generator engine.
