Roadside mechanics have a habit of predicting catastrophic engine failures when they receive an out of town vehicle in for repair. I have to assume that since it was towed in, and NOT running, that it had to be a fantastic "mechanic" that can make a diagnosis without tearing the engine down, or even hearing it run.
