Outside tempature on Inside Gauge

Has anyone installed a outside temperature probe that shows the temperature inside the RV going down the road. If so what brand and where did you buy it.

Side Note:......If you're running a TPMS unit, the indoor/outdoor units can interfere with the wheel sensors signal, especially on the TST brand units. Mine was causing interference, so I changed the thermometer to another channel (A,B,C) which solved the issue.

We have an Acu-Rite indoor/outdoor temp display on the dash with the sensor located behind the front grill, a La Crosse atomic clock with I/O display with the sensor in the propane bay, and another Acu-Rite with the sensor in the water bay next to the pump. The batteries usually last at least a year in all of them. Not exactly an indoor/outdoor temp monitor, but we also have a Chaney dual display monitor with alarm settings, with the sensors in our refrigerator and freezer sections. Pretty much everywhere you look in here you can see the temperature on something! 😉

I have two of them here... They are very common, Any hardware store will have them.. Some are quite advanced and include radio receivers that pick up forcast information from NOAA, or some other (cell tower) source.. Some are just Time and Temp (mine are) along with minimum and maximum.

Most eat batteries epically on the receive.. I rigged rechargables in my receiver.

I mounted the outside wireless sending unit for our temp station inside the access door to the wastewater dump valves, where it is away from engine heat, but has good airflow and exposure to the shaded underside.

Walmart sells about three different sizes/levels of them. From a small temp only unit to a large forecast model.

We have one of the clock display that sets itself by radio, and shows the indoor and outdoor temps, weather forcast, hi and lo max and other stuff that I don't use. If it ourld get them, it will read up to three remote sensors. Got it at one of the big box stores quite some time ago, and it still works most of the time. As there is quite a bit of space under the hood of our class A, a a good bit of space in front of the radiator, I have the sensor mounted there where it will be protected, but still get good shaded outdoor temps with plenty of air circulation. The temps there have always seemed to be pretty accurate, especially when moving. Has worked pretty good for us, but sometimes has lost its little mind and has to be reset. We also have used one of the smaller ones with the remote inside the refrigerator or freezer. We bought an used another cheaper one when were staying where the temps were going below freezing to monitor the temp down in our wet bins with the water tanks and plumbing.

I have a SkyScan atomic clock and I have the probe on the inside door of one of the compartments. It shows the temperature for me in the compartment and also the inside temperature inside the coach, plus it is an atomic clock picking up the signal from Colorado for the time. But you can put that probe any where you want.

Yes, I bought one at a Biglots store. It is their 'Home' branded stuff in the electronics section. I think it cost $11 or so. Has an internal built in, and a wireless external.

I also had a wired display from Oregon Scientific I found at a Goodwill Store for $2. Double sided taped to the dash, wired out to the inside of the passenger mirror.

Both of those devices were in my older '94 RV and I sold them with it.

In my newer '02 Winnie, there's a system built in. It's on the dash and displays internal and external temps. Also displays the direction I'm going. Let me know if you want the brand but I bet it would be a couple three hundred.

Then I have a new one from Howard Miller Model 645-697 that was a free promotion that has an external wireless.
