parking brake lock up

I have a 34 foot coachman sportscoach with the small diesel (Freightliner chassis with a Cummins ISB6.7) . On 2 occasions now after parked for a few weeks the parking brake wouldn't release until I goosed the gas a little breaking it free. Everything worked Ok after that. Any ideas? THX
  • Especially if it's raining when you pull in drag the brakes a bit to heat them up and dry the shoes off before setting the brake.
  • Yup if air pressure up (assume it is), then just rust holding shoes to drums.

Rocking it usually frees it up.
  • Just a little rust on the brakes. Try setting the brakes, wait a few minutes for the brakes to cool, release the parking brake and reset.
