Phatom warning chime

Hi all,
Took my new to me 2005 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 36PDD diesel pusher out for our first run. After about 3 hours of driving we heard this faint beeping noise coming from behind the dash. There were no warning lamps on and there were no apparent problems. The beeping continued if the key was on even after we shut the engine down. I could not pin down exactly where the beeping was coming from except it seemed loudest in the area to the right of steering wheel near the heater controls but it was hard to hear and hard to tell. Any ideas?
  • I know you said no warning lights on (assuming you meant on the dash) but did you notice if there were any light flashing on the leveling jacks? low jack fluid can be a problem.
  • No warning lights on dash or levelers. The alarm or chime seemed muted. All the others that I have heard are quite loud including low air and levelers.
  • I have a 2004 HR Ambassador with a similar issue. The beeping on mine only happens when the road is wet. In a rain, it starts very softly and gets louder as the road gets wetter. When the road dries the beeping stops. There is a thread somewhere about this issue with some suggestions. I haven't been able to make any of them work on mine.
  • on your leveler panel with the warning binger going off push the manual button and release then push the retract button and hold it down for a min or two.hopefully the sound will go away. maybe low fluid

We had that same beeping sound too in the rain in our Monaco Dynasty. It was the beeping from 'the step out' alarm (a light did illuminate on the dash).

Like the OP, we would sometimes get that faint buzzer sound in the dash. I found that it was the seatbelt warning. Since I wear my seatbelt 100% of the time, it would only make that faint buzzing noise when I would start the Dynasty before fastening the belt, but it was faint and would not happen not all the time.

I don't know if there was a sensor in the seat or what. Because, sometimes I would start the coach while I was standing to check on something or let it build air before pulling the slides in.

My 2003 Endeavor does the same thing. I have not been able to find where it is coming from or what it is. Happens only when road is wet or it is raining.
  • find a nurse with a stathoscope and start tracking it down, things like this bug me.
  • I have a 2006 HR Endeavor and have the same beeping noise coming from the dash with no warning lights coming on. I have read the threads concerning it happening in wet conditions but mine doesn't follow that reasoning.

What have have found is mine starts coming on faintly when the engine coolant temperature reaches 194 degrees. The beeping gets louder as the temperature rises. Then as the temperature starts to cool down again, as in coming down a grade, the beeping becomes fainter and fainter until the temperature is below 194 degrees.

This is very annoying since my motorhome does have the Aladdin system and I can monitor my engine temperature through that versus just a dash gauge. The Cummins manual states that 220 degrees is the max you should go and I have never come close to that.
