It's been done, of course, but I would be the last person to be adding that kind of weight and especially to a gasser. Wood laminate would be my consideration, if I was to change anything.
Having said that, I wonder how many know what their DP weighs fully loaded and in comparison to it's GVWR and suspect that most just assume that if it's a DP, it has gobs of CCC.
