Poulsbo RV

Hello, I am going to Poulsbo RV in Auburn, WA tomorrow to look at a 97 Allegro bus. Do any of you have any experience dealing with Poulsbo RV? They seem to be a fairly large dealer here in Washington, but bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

Any feedback you have would be appreciated.

Yes. Go to the Home Page and look for "Sold". It isn't real obvious, but it is there.

They had a bad reputation over 10 years ago when I lived in WA, and they still do. For them nothing has changed.

They all are expensive. That is one thing I hate about our society everyone wants so much money for everything. I called for a USED AC unit. 350 for something used. I mean Cmon!!!!!! I know you need money, but God I would like to keep some for myself. If you want to buy an RV from a dealer,, expect that they like a lot of money.

I live close to two of their stores and have dealt with them several times for repairs and modifications. They did the repairs and modifications correctly. When I shopped for a used coach, their prices were outlandishly high. So, if you find something you like, check out PPL's web site for what similar rigs sold for. I bet you'll find the actual sale price was significantly less than what Poulsbo is asking.

That said, I fully appreciate the cost of doing business; paying the employees, flooring costs and rent on the space along with all the little stuff. And, they don't sell RVs every day all year around. So, they have to make a profit and profit is not a bad word.

At the Poulsbo RV in Kent I go there all the time for their seminars, which are good (they always have prizes). However brought my TT in to get winterized and it got side swiped in their lot by another owner. $3,300 in damages. So we kept it their for repairs. After 2 months no word or phone call as to how soon it would be done, and come to find out no parts ordered during that time. It just sat in their lot. I thought screw this, I went and picked it up the next day and brought it home to find another RV repair shop. I can thank them for helping me find my down to earth, best RV repair mechanic ever. I will never take my TT in their lot ever and never get anything repaired there. They are good at selling up front, but in the back end watch out for an ass kicking.

IMHO, They over price everything! In 2004, I was going to buy a new Winnebago Adventurer at Poulsbo RV, Kent, WA.. I found the same coach new at Roy Robinson RV in Marysville, WA. The ridiculous sticker price on the window was $121,000.00 at Poulsbo RV and $123,000 at Roy Robinson. Poulsbo wouldn't budge off of the final offer $108,000.00 and Roy Robinson went all the way down to $93,000.00. So I saved a few bucks by shopping around. Poulsbo RV employees also used my coach RV bathroom when I had it in for a recall at there Kent, WA. dealership. They left the bathroom dirty after my wife cleaned it up prior to going there. We reported them to Winnebago and they lied about it. A few weeks later Winnebago arranged a meeting between Poulsbo RV and myself to air out all the issue's and shake hands. I refused to meet with them do to the fact that they lied to me and Winnebago.

I bought a new Fleetwood trailer from them in 2006. The floors rotted out in just over two years.

They were horrible to deal with and had nothing to offered other than a $7000 estimate to fix the floor.

Be very careful when you deal with them. They do not give a rip about you after the deal is done.... I wouldn't buy water from them if I was on fire...

We bought our new Winnebago from their Kent store in 2006. We didn't have any problems with them.

My wife and I went in the day before we were to take delivery of the RV and inspected it from top to bottom. They didn't have any problems with us spending about 8 hours in the RV. My wife mostly inspected the inside and I checked the outside. As a former air crew member I inspected the RV as I would an aircraft after heavy maintenance. It was a new RV and we found a handful of items and they were able to answer our questions about the items or they fixed them.

Safe Travels.

Here's a suggestion, not specific to this dealer- just a handy tool for anyone shopping for used RV's:

Changing Gears has an excellent page on this subject that contains a downloadable/printable checklist to take along when you're looking rigs over. You can even customize this list before printing to suit your own needs.

Check it out at this link.

Good luck, and happy hunting!
