- wtfjrExplorerAnother bump to the top ?
- daverichExplorerPerhaps this means no one uses a bug shield.
On my motor home at the end of a trip I use the garden hose and wash them off. So far that has worked just fine. - wtfjrExplorerLiving in sunny FL, I can't believe that RVers are not protecting their radiator from the Love Bugs that swarm here in the Spring & again in the Fall. They will totally cover the front of your vehicle when they are swarming. You are correct that a hose will remove most of the normal bugs from the front of an RV, but Love Bugs are another story.
- Clay_LExplorerMany (most?) gas motor homes need as much air as they can get when they are working hard as when going up a grade. Bug screens can cut the amount of air by a lot more than many people realize.
I don't use one. - DixiechickExplorerWe don't use one.
- topflite51ExplorerInstead of a bug screen, I use hardware cloth and fasten it inside the grill, catches most of the little critters. Use high pressure water when I return home to clean it off.

Hi
You mention that you use "hardware cloth" as your bug screen.
Is your bug screen the hard metal type or is it the soft plastic type of hardware cloth ?
I bought some of the hard metal type today & really wonder if I bought the right one ?
Thanks !

Bill in FL - wny_pat1ExplorerI was a plexiglass one on a Allegro Bus w Florida tags at a campground in Erie, Pa a couple weeks back. Nice looking rig.
- Cass_SumrallExplorerI am in south FL & I use hardwire cloth covered with black plastic screen inside the grill. It works great to keep the love bugs out of the radiators.
I just spray it off with a garden hose.
I see no difference in my running water temp using it even with the heat of summer now. Works great for me.
