Raystown PA

Planning to go to Raystown Lake next weekend - 10/25 and 26. We like to do a good bit of mountain biking etc. Friends suggested 7 points CG but it's first come. Makes me nervous traveling 2+ hours on a Friday afternoon and a chance there may not be a site available. I would want at least electric. Anyone stay here? What other suggestions might you have?

Really? I guess things changed. They used to stay open through October.
  • Electric or nothing are your choices. There is a dump station and lots of water sources around though I'm not sure when they turn them off.

I've stayed there on many occasions around this time of year and never had a problem finding a site. Sometimes I was alone. The only thing I can think of that could cause a problem would be a combination of nice weather and something going on in the area. No county fairs or graduations now but I'd Google around a bit and check on sporting events at Penn State or area high schools.

  • 7 Pts COE CG is a conglomeration of multiple camp grounds, surrounding the marina. This time of year there is NO problem finding a site, in fact you will probably have your choice of waterfront sites also. The marina pulled all the boats this past weekend and are pulling docks this week, so the restaurant and marina store is probably closed. We have family that has a large houseboat there, that keep us posted, as we used to have a seasonal site close to the lake.
