Re roof my 1995 newmar

I had camping world's body repair shop replace the 40' edge cap on my DP and they used an aluminum tape that failed after 2 years and leaked. I removed it and replaced w/ Eternabond that fixed the leak. I have had eternabond on the other 3 roof seams for 5 years and no leaks on those seams!!! I don't know what brand alum tape they used but I only trust eternabond products as many others have on this forum!

Mike - you should list your make and model info in you profile. If we can look there and see what kind of coach you have, it makes offering info a lot easier.

ah. I didn't see londonaire before. that was the ultra top of the line as I recall back then. I looked at a 5er at the factory that had NO seams visible. all glassed in and smooth. looked beautiful.

Thanks everyone , everyone keeps saying it is a rubber roof on my 1995 Newmar london air but it is Fiberglass type surface, almost like a formica on your kitchen counters and all one piece the Roof Repair tape with tar and aluminum backing did the trick when i got all the other attempts to fix off it then i painted cool seal for looks more than anything to cover the tape and make look uniform. Look into rhino lining the roof.

If as the lead line said your MH is a 1995 model and the roof is rubber have it reroofed. I speak from experience. Leaks lead to mildew, you don't want that.

thanks so much i looked at the marker lights and your right i do have to give it some attention also. never even thought to look over the edge... LOL

Another area often missed (guess how I know :B) is the marker lights. They too will sometimes leak and depending on how it's parked they'll drive you nuts. If you get the right combination of wind and rain they'll leak bad, if you get the wrong combination of wind and rain they won't leak a drop.

ok 2 days of heat gun and scraping everything ,prior owner used every compound known to man , resealed everything and rained and stormed 3 inches last night at lake in okla not a leak one...i put the aluminum tape down then 2 coats of cool seal with a 10 yr warranty and it looks good and doesnt leak i am so happy plus missed out on the 150-200.00 a foot.. thanks all for your help..

thank you and ooch! will try to pull A/C units and reseal , the material on top of mine appears to be like 1/4 in plywood with a formica type surface on it and all one peice the entire 40' length and a seam on front and rear and down both sides there are some spots where you can feel it give when walking on it but i am 300lbs only panels inside are the first two where the digital antenna comes thru but i replace it and am convinced it isnt leaking there and only places to leak should be the seems and holes cut in it
