Recliner Shopping

I'm looking to purchase a new recliner for my 2012 Georgetown 357 and was needing some advice on where to start shopping, the RV salesman said there are several places in Elkhart Indiana that have them but I would prefer to not make that trip and try for something online.

I have owned two different brands of motorhome, both purchased new and both included a recliner chair or two. In neither case was there anything to restrain the recliner chair(s). Have driven about 80,000 miles including some panic stops, and never has the recliner chair moved.

Regarding securing a recliner in a motorhome:

We replaced the OEM bolted-in sofa bed in our previous coach with a Lazy Boy reclining love seat. The OEM sofa had seat belts. When we put the Lazy Boy in the coach, we just ran the seat belts thru the back of the Lazy Boy, clicked them together, then stuffed them between the seat cushion and the back of the recliner. Never saw the belts and the love seat never moved an inch.

My recliners are in the back of the unit and I must turn them sideways so the slides will clear them. There are straps fastened to the floor and I bring them across the chairs to keep them in place. If they moved one inch they would interfere with opening the slides. My old unit had more room and I never secured them and they didn't move much.

Secured for reasons of sudden stops or accidents. That's why I was asking. I have a lazy boy in my motorhome, and it's not secured. I'm looking for ideas, that's why I asked. Thanks

Push back against wall so it don't rock is all I do. Never had one move more than a inch from wall during a drive. (840 miles when I go to Myrtle Beach)

I am curious as to what kind of roads one would have to be driving on to have to fasten your Lazyboys down? I have replaced couches in three units with them and never had a problem.

Lambright Chairs in LaGrange, Indiana makes custom chairs. Very comfortable and pricing not much different than Lazy boy. Randu

I wish you were close to KC as I would make you a good deal on the two that came out of our RV. I replaced them with Lay-Z-Boy because they were easier to move around.

Any furniture store will have models with different specs that they can get for you. Wall Huggers, rockers, narrow and wide, and the elusive just right material. Just measure where you want it and go looking.
