Replacing the 1157 socket in existing unit

For any of you that struggle with those worthless tail lights on many class Cs. I finally found a solution. Amazon has a decent 1157 socket on a "L" bracket, the ones that are spring loaded. Cut the old socket out, screw the new L bracket of socket to the aluminum in existing fixture so you have the ground, hard wire the wires with solder. Those 2 tension prongs to the bulb where the wires are friction held are the worst thing to try and keep working....now for the boat trailer.
