RV Roof Repair

Hi;
Does anyone have any experience with a company "Never leak RV Roofing"
in Jenson Beach Fla., and their product;Safe T Plex elastomeric Roof
Coating ?? I am considering having the process done to my 38 ft
American Eagle.....SOON !!
Any reply appreciated !!
Thanks,

  • We have a 37" Beaver. They took everything off the roof, 2-135W solar panels, 2-40W solar panels, skylight, 2 exhaust fans, 2 air conditioners, satellite dish. Sprayed the roof and remounted everything including a new skylight and exhaust fan all was $5000.
But now I don't have to climb back up there a re-tape seams or worry about leaks....20 year guarantee.

I believe it runs about $140 a foot.

We went to Dave's Permanent Coatings in Green Cove Springs, Fl just south of Jacksonville. We are very happy and I have sent 3 others to Dave's that are very happy. If you are interested PM me and I will send you a $50 off coupon.

out of curiosity I went to their website and (of course) was unable to find any pricing guidelines. What does something like that run?
  • I think that is awfully expensive.
I figure if I do it myself using 4 gallons of Al's Liner, the cost would be @$500- $600 max.
Of course all the labor would be me.
When the elastormeric coating I roller on gets bad(3 years on it now) that is what I'll do.
  • Here is a link to company in Petersburg Va. He also gives a link to an article that was recently in the Richmond Va paper. Hope this may give you some more info on the process and materials.

  • I've never heard of them before or that Safe T Plex? If they are in business for the long haul, I would call them and get 3 customer's that have used that roofing system and check with the better business bureau for reference and what type of warranty they offer? If they offer you a 20 year warranty and go bust next year, what do you have then? Me personally, I would go to a reliable local RV shop and have a TPO roof installed for around 3500 bucks +/-.

    Good Luck and Happy Camping..
  • I know of Dave's Permanent Coatings (rvroof.com) and Rhino Lining's Eco-Coat. Both have had very good reviews. I'd stay away from no-name companies. They might just be spraying pickup truck bed liner on top which won't flex when the rig goes down the road, but crack, and cause very damaging leaks which are impossible to find. If it doesn't stretch and flex like the polyurethane epoxy compounds do, you don't want it.

I have no clue about the company the OP mentioned. They have a website, but neither yelp nor the local BBB have no reviews, either good or bad, so there isn't anything really to go on except their website.
  • There has been a Craigslist post running forever from someone warning others to stay far, far away from doing business with this company. The reason, I don't know. Perhaps there is competition but perhaps someone got burned.
I looked for the posting but as usual, it was flagged and removed.
