Shocks

tried to do my shocks...my air gun was not strong enough and I wasn't strong enough to break the nuts loose...cost me $60 for installing two...well worth the money..good luck

The 2000 Fleetwood Flair shock bolts are SAE 1 1/8 Rich

I cleaned head bolts and have been spraying threads with wd40 I think the bolts are sae since they look to be grade 8 bolts, best measurement I got looked to be 1 1/16 so I will get a socket at Sears today and go from there--- I thought surly someone would remember what sizes they were- Rich

Starting to load my coach to go full time in late May. Tools tend to tske space and weight slot. Some people are really going to make out whem I start the yard sales.

Monroe makes shocks for motorhomes, they ride smoother than the Bilsteins.

Those bolts are going to be a beach to get off.
An impact wrench, air or electric, is highly recommended. These "rattle" the bolts loose, rather than just twisting them until they break.

I am another who never leaves home without a double full set of sockets, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" in both metric and American, as well as a bunch of extensions, universals, and universal sockets....

As we get more and more serious about full-timing, my biggest thoughts go toward "what in the he!! am I going to do with my TOOLS?

The shocks were not $50 each, the installation is, this Monday.
I went on line and looked for Bilstein shocks with free shipping
and PayPal. Ended up at $335.00 for the shocks. There were some
slightly better deals out there, but they added shipping, and I
always look for PayPal sellers. I would give you the link, but
I had a big email blowout here.

Where did you get the shocks? Sounds like a good price.

Question is I am going to order new shocks and as I look at the old ones on MH I don't know if the bolts are sae or metric and no way to really measure- so if anybody has done this job lately and know the sizes it will save me from buying a bunch of sockets to try til I get the right. One thanks Rich

Did my 2000 F53 a while ago and added Bilstein shocks all the way around. I believe it was an 1" and 1/4 socket/wrench. Was a piece of cake to do.
