2021 Coachmen leprechaun 300bh Ok so i have been looking at a lot of things on here and I cant seem to find the right answer. ( Preface, my motor home is a bit off level to the front) So first off I can turn on my sink faucets and run them for a good three minutes and no back ups when I turn them off there is a significant amount of gurgling coming from my walls. From the looks of it that is where the vent pipe is located. I was taking a shower and water was draining and then all of the sudden nothing, i mean not a drop more. i went to the roof to see if the vent was clogged and when i looked in there i could see water and it was bubbling. so i opened the valve and it all went away. so im not sure why water would be going up the vent pipe. I'm a first time RVer and need some help.

Air! Drains for a while and stops indicates a plugged air vent.

With my Bigfoot truck camper, if the camper is lower on the passenger side the shower doesn't drain properly, and the water from the kitchen sink sometimes "washes" the bathroom floor. There is very little drop from the shower base to the grey water tank, and the piping is such that this happens. I just make sure that the camper is level, and there is no problem. I would try levelling the coach, and see if that helps.

Am I understanding correctly that when you went on the roof, that the vent pipe was full of water? And...when you then opened up the grey tank drain.....how much water came out? I.e. Was it just a few gallons or did it seem like the grey tank was full?And... last question....is this a new issue or did it just start? Or is this the first time you used the rv?

As others have mentioned, it sounds like the cut-outs were left inside during manufacturing. I would take the rig in for warranty work. Advise them to disconnect the gray tank and fish out the two large circular disks left inside when cutting holes for the vent and drain pipes.

If left in the gray tank, the line worker likely did the same in the black tank and fresh water tank. You might later have trouble draining the black tank and getting on-board fresh water.

I wonder if you could at home flush out the disks. Fill both black and gray tanks to the tippy-top with fresh water (and a cup of bleach in each), then open one tank at a time and release the full rush. To further encourage disk-movement, use your tank-flush feature during that time.

How much is a bit? Being too much off level may not be good for your fridge either. Level it and see if the problem persist. If you are nose down and the vent pipe enters the tank at the front, this could be your problem.

Was top of vent line even with roof line OR down below a few inches??

S/B even with roof line

Down a few inches...then it has slipped down
Waste tanks by design are not deep...they are long/wide to provide capacity
Vent line slipping down will block the end of vent line

Grab it with pliers ---pull it up then secure it with couple wood screw thru pipe into roof decking

Cutout disc.....
that will require access to tank dump valve, remove it and then hopefully one can reach/retrieve the disc with a pickup tool, long needle nose pliers etc and wrestle it out

Better YET....DEALER/WARRANTY
It's winter and best time to be w/o RV for few months (warranty work is rarely done quickly)

When they are putting in the tanks, they have to cut a hole in the top of the tanks for the plumbing line drain and vent to enter the tank. They should cut it out and remove it. But they are sometimes careless and drop it in the tank and then say “oh well”. Then it’s just luck of the draw if it ever causes an issue. But I’ve seen it before!

When you say the Cutout what is that exactly?

I was going to guess the cutout falling down as well.... because I have actually seen it! I know it sounds crazy but it happens!!! With a brand new unit, I’d get the dealer to handle it.

With the cut out issue, it usually will still drain just slowly.,. The cutout does not block the drain completely just slows it down a lot

when i got up top it doesn't look like the drain pipe fell in. how would I be able to tell the other one about the cut out. water is actually draining out when i open the valve though

One of 2 issues:

SO it wasn't full of water but when I was looking down the pipe I could see some bubbling.

It the valve was open and draining until this morning when I closed it and took a shower. (tying to fill the gray tank in order to flush the black water out of the sewer hose) I opened the valve and only a few gallons came out.

I bought the RV brand new in October, we have used the shower only three times so far. Wheni took showers before the valve was open and the water did drain slowly then as well. water would pool up on the shower floor.
