Spare tire carrier

Question

We have been looking at the Winnebago View and the Itasca Navion. While at a dealer in Fort Worth, they had a unit with a spare tire carrier on the back of the unit. It appears to me that this would free a lot of the spare storage for the unit.

As I have never seen another unit with this feature, I am curious if this is a factory option? I also curious if the rear cap of the vehicle is strong enough to carry the spare tire?

We have the View and it does indeed seem to be a factory setup.

Looking around the web, it looks like that's the only way to carry a spare on at least the current model of the View. Most pics show one, and there's no discussion of undermount that I can find.

Whether it's a pay-extra "option" or not is I s'pose another matter.
