- deandecExplorerI actually have a claim experience.
Toad insured by Allied and MH insured by Progressive.
Neither insurance company was notified of the toad situation.
Toad was damaged by a third party while being towed.
Allied covered the costs and processed the claim and then negotiated the settlement with the offending insurance co. - booty51ExplorerI asked my agent the same question, she said not a problem everything was covered!

Why would you think it requires you to notify the company? there is no increased risk.
I asked the question because insurance companies can come up with every excuse in the book not to have to pay a claim... - FishinghatExplorer IIYour standard auto policy covers the toad while being towed. You don't have to notify the agent. There is no exclusion on your standard polity that excludes towing damage.
As for the baseplate and tow bar, they should be covered by the policy on the motorhome. - univmdExplorerGeico charges us extra to cover the baseplate and aux. braking system and tow bar which are aftermarket accessories not normally covered.

- wa8yxmExplorer IIITheory has it that a trailer is covered by the tractors insurance. (Tractor - vehicle doing the towing,,, And a car in tow... Is a trailer).
I wish to stress that this is THEORY and your insurance company will try to wiggle out of providing coverage if they can... - BobGedExplorerIt might depend on the insurance company, but I asked mine (Geico)and it didn't make any difference to them.

- DabooExplorerthey haven't ask...I have the RV and CRV insured at the same place, but some people don't realize there are cars being towed...and I won't tell them unless they ask....
