Steering damper / stabilizer

Made my old coach handle like a car. No semi push and the cross wind sway is way, way down. It did take several adjustments to have the MH track down the road like an arrow. Dang thing is pricey but the local auto repair guy charged about $150 to install and tune it in.

We put one on our coach last spring. Paid around $750 for the part and installation at Camping World. With our GS membership we had a 10% discount on the part. There are different models of the Saf-T-Plus and the model needed for your coach may be more expensive. We have an F53 chassis and I think the model determination is based on what chassis you have. We found a lot of info online about them and researched comparing other brands. We did it for tire blow out safety and it helped with the bad push you feel from semi's. Also the constant adjustment needed to steer as it keeps it on center. Not as tiring to drive now.

I installed it myself, rather easy installation. Took about two hours of time, including getting tools organized and just thinging about it. Think I paid about $500.00 +/- plus you will need the attaching hardware for your specific coach - probably about $40 to $50.

Actually, there is a real (actually several)purpose for the Safe-T-Plus.

We sold our last coach with 170,000 miles on it. Had a Safe T Plus.

We put one on the current coach.

What I like about it:

Strong "return to center" springs. When you go around a corner, you don't have to "un-turn" the wheel-- it returns to center.

Has a large hydraulic dampener that helps cushion road shocks.

And, in the event of a front tire blowout, that dampening may keep you on the road instead of the ditch.

They should be named by their real purpose.
