Stuck Countertop Extender

Hi Folks, I have a 2005 Itasca Horizon 40AD. In the galley it has a counter top extension that pulls out with additional cupboard storage built into it. It appears that the cable for the release latch has come loose from the latch mechanism and I am unable to pull the unit open. What would I need to do to gain access to the latch mechanism so that it can be manipulated manually and then repaired? At this point I have not yet been able to even locate where the latch is mounted but it is obviously somewhere behind the sliding portion of the unit.

Thanks! Gene from AZ

I am thinking this is the ticket. There is a fake cabinet door beside the sofa. I don't think I will be able to access it it without removing the sofa though. Removing the only drawer in the unit only allows me to see part of the release cable run but not the latch itself.

Looks like the sofa is on its way out. Thanks for the advice folks!

Is there any access by removing drawers, etc? Adjacent cabinet access like access at top or bottom? Something removal? Lights, cameras, mirrors helpful? Kid with small arms? Trim removal? Use force and screws pull out?
