Switch mystery on 1995 National Sea Breeze

Here is a good one for ya…We have a 1995 National Sea Breeze M129. I know what all the various switches do from one end to the other, except one. There is a switch on the dashboard in the row of switches that are installed there that is labeled “AUX 3”. It is factory installed but I have no idea what it does. The people we bought it from didn’t know either. It may do nothing for all I know but I figured I would through it out to the group…any ideas?
  • I have a 2002 National Seabreeze 8341 and have 2 Aux switches I haven't figured out.
  • I have one on my Sea View it was just an extra switch put in so you could wire up something extra to it. In my case I used it for the extra cooling fan I put on the front of the trans cooler. Pull the switch out and see if it has any wires running from it.
  • John Wayne has it right. I had a 96 National build and I used the switch for a backup fuel pump I installed in a pinch. It had a circuit on one side which I switched out with the cigarette lighter for more amperage.

It's most likely a spare for whatever and I used mine for by-passing the engine's electric fan. I thought it might help to turn it on ahead of time when climbing long steep grades. We did so a lot with this last trip, but not so sure it really helped all that much. My main goal was to try and keep the tranny oil cooler and yes, it will come on it's own, once it gets hot enough.
Didn't mean to get carried away and off the subject matter here, so if you'll look behind the panel, you'll most likely see that there's wiring on one side of the switch only.
  • I have an 05 Sea Breeze with an Aux 1 switch. It's not wired to anything.
  • Yes, it's just a spare. My National Tropical doesn't have any spares because the two positions that are spare on others, control my power front shades which are an option. If I didn't have the two power front shades, then those two switches would be spares.
