Like many sales ads, it is just a feel good thing, Having only used the Shell 15W-40 in all my Diesel engines, the vehicles wear out before the engines.

If your trucks are wearing out before the engines, you need to take better care of your trucks.
I saw a 7.3 PSD in an F-550 ramp truck wind up 930,000+ miles...and it NEVER got anything but whatever 15W-40 the boss got a good price on! Original turbo, even had 3 original injectors!
Around here, they don't wear out...they RUST! (Or, like that F-550, they get wrecked.)
