Tire dealers in BC, Washington state or Oregon.

I've been pricing out tires locally for my Class C 21QB, but in a few weeks I will be doing a trip through the Fraser Valley into the US, so I was wondering if anybody could suggest good (as in good deals) tire shops in BC or the Pacific Northwest? I'm not too brand specific, but would prefer to stick with reputable products like Michelin, Firestone, Cooper, etc.

Thanks for all suggestions.

I'm the OP. Thanks for all the great responses! Our local Costco does not do motorhomes, but the one a few hours from here (Kelowna) does, so the local guy suggested I order them through costco.ca and have them delivered there. I can get them mounted there and be done.

Thanks again!

I have not bought motorhome tires recently, but when we did the tires installed, were less expensive at a local BC tire shop than a big chain and considerably less expensive than what a friend paid in the US for the same tires.

As far as warranty, I would just bet that unless you are talking to the place where ya bought, you`d be not well looked after.

The thing that I have concentrated on, with my tires, is the need to get them checked twice a year and I get that with the shop I deal with. That plus flat repairs, etc. I look for a dealer network that has more than one or two shops. In my case, I use Kal Tire because they have an outstanding reputation for looking after their work, both tires and mechanical and with shops in all of western Canada. I use their house brand too, on the RV. Where I live, snow can come hard and fast 6 months of the year and in BC we have a standard, referred to as the `Snowflake`. It is on the sidewall of the qualified tire and that will get you past any road checks for snow tires or chains. I get 6 tires for $1,100, so I figure I am far ahead.

Plus, with my 4 wheel drive side of life, the tires get me to where I want to go and out again.

If you purchase Toyo tires, I would think any tire store that sells Toyo tires could help you with a warranty issue. I might be wrong, I have before. Dick

Nope. They do have a sorta kinda unwritten help each others customers out of a jam agreement. The owners used to golf together.

Unless you have a Les Schwab or a Toyo tire dealer you trust I'd go a different route. Most of the Tire Factory stores still name brand tires like Michelin, BFG, Goodyear, etc. Once you know where you're going you can start calling with your tire specs and get quotes. Once you find a good deal make sure they have them in stock and hold them so you're not stuck around waiting for them to be transferred in from another location or warehouse.

Les Scwab in that part on W. US. And IIRC - if mounted on your rig you will not have to declare them when you re-enter Canada! Just part of maintenance.
BUT check with Canadian Customs folks for the 'right' answer.

I also run Toyos from Les Schwab. Costco stuck with some Load Range C tires once and tried to claim that was the best there was. Les Schwab has provided me with excellent warranty support over the years, so I don't even consider anyone else at this point.

I like Les Schwab and if I'm traveling to Oregon buy there with no state sales tax. I like Toyo Open Country H/T LT225/75R-16 10 Ply E. Dick

I think darsben may have the best idea. Buy them online and ship them to an installer in the US. I know there are tire shops in the Seattle area that you can arrange to have your Tire Rack purchase shipped to.

I bought mine from Costco here in Washington. But they won't install them on a motorhome and they had to order in the Bridgestones that I wanted. I had to take my wheels in (without the motorhome attached) in order for them to mount the tires but that wasn't an obstacle for me. Around here it's pretty hard to beat the prices of Costco or Discount Tires. I find Les Schwab to be rather expensive and their name brand tires are limited to Toyo. Schwab can order in other name brand tires but I saw no reason to mess with them because of their high pricing.
