Toilet Pedal Broke

I have an 06 Alfa See Ya. When flushing the toilet tonight, it sounded like something broke and the pedal dropped to the floor. Now, the valve hangs open and the pedal is resting on the floor. Can this be repaired or should I just get a new one.
  • yeah, we had a peddle break as well, forcing the replacement of the entire toilet. they are cheap plastic and it's not particularly easy labor.

This happened to me the day before I was leaving for a week long trip. I took the toilet out and there was a broken piece of plastic. I didn't see any cables or anyway to fix the toilet (cheap plastic thetford toilet). I was lucky in that I live about 35 miles from one of the biggest RV dealers in the US (Lazydays in Florida). I was able to get a replacement toilet the next day which saved the vacation.

  • Yes, this can be fixed, but it depends on the toilet. Had the same thing happen to me on my Thetford toilet. Had to buy the cable kit and re-string the cables for the pedal to work. Very easy to do and the kit comes with everything you need. I believe this is the kit below. Again, depends on the toilet you have.
