X-2, Washington State has some tolls set up this way (Tacoma Narrows Bridge for one)! You just drive thru if you don't have a Good to Go Sticker (Pass) on your windshield. The Washington State Patrol sends you a bill in the mail that charges you $1.00 more than if you were waiting in line! On holidays when the toll booths are all jammed up a lot of people just drive thru. WSDOT has cameras set up that takes a picture of your license plate. Washington State Patrol Cadets look up your license plate on the computers to get a home address to send you the bill.

E-ZPass accounts issued in NY State (NOT by the NY/NJ Port Authority) have no monthly fee and no charge for the transponder for automatic replenishment accounts. One of our friends from Michigan recently got hers in NY while visiting us.

I got mine from Ohio, same thing, no monthly charge.

EZ-Pass is great for them, it sucks for us. We still get reamed at most tolls, then again because we don't use it enough. They know what to do about that. They bill us a monthy billing fee. There are no tolls that will accept the EZ-Pass in 200 miles, but we can't go west withour running into one.

There is some kind of electric eye that senses vehicle height and dispenses the ticket out of either the high or low dispenser. I had the same problem towing the trailer, it saw the height of the trailer, thought I was a semi, and dispensed the ticket high up...where I couldn't reach it without opening the door of the Suburban.

We have always had EZ Pass, but this was on the OH turnpike years ago and they were not accepting EZ Pass yet, your only choice was to get a ticket.

I think his issue is that the cab is narrower than the body of the RV. I have issues at campgrounds with gates, as my Liberty is much narrower than the camper. AND, the tow mirrors don't help any.

But, as other say, EZ-Pass is great! Except, in my case, I get charged wrong in certain states when towing. They charge me for a tractor trailer instead of a vehicle and trailer.

All it takes to get an EZ pass is filling out a form on line or at an oasis stop. The transponder is free and I believe the toll rate is less than paying at the booth. It sure makes life easier driving past the traffic back up at the toll booth.

The big trucks also use the higher ticket output.

The window beside the driver's seat on my class A is electric and goes down, isn't yours?
