Yes the golf course is still there and going strong. I use to live in Cold Springs and it is a great area to live in. Hope that this year we get a lot more snow we really need it.

Had this exact thing happen to me when I had a 92 F350 7.3 and E4OD transmission. Was backing up a steep slope to a campsite and fluid poured out the seal. After it cooled off and refilled, no problem. I did have an external cooler on it also. Thanks guys. It was a very hot day and I was towing my 24 FT enclosed trailer with an RX 7 race car and some spares. I live in the mountains of California and was coming back from Yuba City so I drove across the Central valley in 100 plus degree heat. I had a grade to clime that rises from 2000 feet to 4300 feet in 3 miles. about 3/4 of a mile from home it started to leak and I lost 2 quarts. The oil is clean and not burnt and it shifts fine. So I will out the driveshaft back on and take in for a drive and check it out. If it doesn't leak I will buy a cooler and see if it works after that.

Play it by ear.... Look & observe. How big is the leak? If it's the occasional drip the seals may get wet again with use and "seal again". Sort of risky.

You could always go under it and slightly tighten each bolt and examine further.

Not uncommon if you overheat it, it will leak oil. Add a oil cooler and you should get several more years out of it.

IF it sat long enough for seals to dry out, possible that use will soften seal and stop leak.
