Upgraded Water Pump

Replacement

This is me saying for the public record that my husband was RIGHT and I was WRONG to wait so long to replace the original water pump on our motorhome. I kept saying that it would be a waste of money because the new one would make just as much noise as the original. DH installed the one in the above link yesterday and it is so quiet I have to strain to hear it from inside the coach.

  • I replaced my 5.7GPM Sure Flow "Smart Pump" that lasted a whopping 11 years, about 6 months ago with the 4008. So far, it's maybe a bit quieter and seems to pump as good as the old 5.7 did. The pressure's about the same, maybe a tad more.

  • Shurflo 4008 is a good replacement pump. (3 gpm/55 psi)

Especially if you have a couple of the obsolete/no longer in production models
such as the Shurflo Classic (2088) and the Shurflo Extreme (4900/5900)

Shurflo 4048 is another good replacement (4 gpm/55 psi)

Mine has been making noise for a long time. I haven't even looked into replacing it.......do you have to replace the existing one with an exact replacement, or will any pump work? Like I said, I haven't checked into it at all yet. Thanks

this one is a different model than the original one that we had. DH said it was no trouble to replace it. Only took him about 45 minutes including getting out the tools and cleaning up.
