What does this do?

Inside one of my cupboards near the control panel is a small electrical box with a small LCD window - same size as a winegard panel. There is a button that will display CF on the LCD when pushed. Inside are 12v connections and 4 smaller wires - nothing on the unit to tell me what it is. Anyone know its function?

Coach is a 2002 Jamboree 31W GT.

Thanks!
  • You are correct - single lnb. Just got this coach and in the process of going thru it getting everything up to date. I figure this problem is in the future. I know nothing about satellite and need to learn before buy. Only took me about 20x to figure that out...
At least I know I can ignore this for now. Thanks for your input!

  • If you have a satellite dish, it is most likely cabled to a cabinet somewhere with power for a receiver and coax connectors for dish to receiver, receiver to antenna input to TV.

Dish for a 2002 would most likely be single LNB which would be used with DirecTV for standard definition at the time, or Dish TV one satellite at a time. The technology and assignment of services to satellites has changed, but chances are pretty good that with the right receiver you can get most of the DirecTV programming you would have gotten in 2002, but not everything offered today by use of multiple satellites.

An elevation guage for my dish (2004) is located where I crank it up. Cabinet for the receiver is located next to the TV.
  • I wondered if it had anything to do with the satellite... It is the only thing different from our 5th wheel. There is no receiver in the coach - just the antenna on the roof - haven't even figured out which carrier it is for yet. If it is for the satellite - what does it do and what is it wired to?

    Thanks!
  • CF = cubic feet? Natural gas is measured in cubic feet, maybe propane is too? Some sort of fancy gas usage meter?
  • A picture would help, but my guess is that is your satellite azimuth gauge.
