- bass_n_bobExplorerI agree with Mondooker. If it wasn't for our little granddaughter I would never go back.

- wa8yxmExplorer IIIMy License plate says MICHIGAN so I have to spend at least 6 months + 1 day in MI every year. I will be leaving South Carolina after Easter Likely April 22 or 29 this year. I may head straight north or jog out to Maryland for a weekend Not sure yet... Depends on budget and other things. Then head south again after the 1st Saturday in November. (I sing in the choir so Easter is one of our two "Big Days" (Christmas is the other) and the 1st Saturday in Nov is a special (local not church wide) service in MI that I enjoy so why not).
Last year I left MI in Mid April jogged to MD and hit and as I went through Ohio the way got very white and scary.. (Bilzzard) Speeds down to around 30 on the freeway or less. Was looking for parking when I drove out of it... Got back to MI before they turned the water back on in the park.. but since I arrived with about 60-70 gallons on board not a problem. Turned it on a few days later. - rollindowntheroExplorer III live in Schenectady. Most campgrounds don't open until the end of April or first part of May. Lake George area is gorgeous and has numerous camp grounds.
- slider45NomadYou can't go wrong going to Saratoga for campsites.
- lj2654Explorerthanks for all the great info, I really appreciate it. We are going to be in Georgia still the beginning of April so should work out good! Dutch, I am from elmira.....
- cwitExplorerI don’t know where you are going in upper N.Y. But we live nthe upper Lake Champlain border. Most camp sites open April 15. To n out area around Saratoga you can find year round camp sites.
- scbwrExplorer IIFirst of all, check out the campgrounds/rv parks where you plan to go and see when they open for the season as many of them don't open until sometime in May. And, in many parts of NY state, it's possible to have freezing temps at night until the end of May i.e. when we lived near Niagara Falls, we didn't plant flowers until around Memorial Day weekend or later. So...it depends on how well your rig handles freezing temps. With a little preparation, I don't think you should have a problem with the weather freezing temps are usually for a very short time. As to April....you just run the risk of longer periods of freezing temps.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIWe'll be in upstate NY in time for Easter with our kids and grandkids in mid-April. It'll still be a bit cool, but warming quickly as May approaches.
