As for performance, it's all up to the individuals perspective. More torque will always get you down the road better and for 33000# I would prefer a Cummins C series engine but the the 6.7 will do the job. - kedanieExplorer IIOur sig coach has the Cummins ISB 6.7 and Allison 2500. We are at about the same weights and flat tow our Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's not a rocket ship but the combination goes down the road without problems. We seem to be averaging right at 10mpg running at 65. It will loose some when the wind blows or if we are doing a lot of climbing. It never gets below 50 even on the steepest hills.

- tmmarExplorerI had that setup in my '08 coach that I had for over 5 years. Ran great and never had any problems or issues with it. I wouldn't worry about speed or torque. It will take you down the road just fine.
ps- I haven't updated the picture of my coach just yet. - randallbExplorerI had an 08 HR with 26,000 GCWR. We full timed for almost two years, pulled 3,000 pounds and had no problems. We kept our house in LA and made it to all 4 corners of the country looking for our retirement location. During this period we had no problems maintaining speed on I-40, I-5, I-94 or any of the 2 laners we traveled all over the east. We came up out of Phoenix headed to San Diego on a 100 degree day and never dropped below 65 MPH pulling my empty 7 X 18 trailer. The ECM is programmed to keep torque limited on take off and this relieves stress on the transmission, driveshaft and rear end. It is a very well thought out combination. We averaged around 9.0 MPG over the 36,000 miles we ran the RV prior to selling. Empty, I made it from Dandridge, TN to Lazy Days in Seffner, FL on a single tank. I prayed it would not run out of fuel when I missed the turn in to LD. It did not and I was pleasantly surprised. With side trips to CGs I added about 50 miles to the trip.

We have friends that had the same experience. The 6.7L is a fine engine, but not enough engine for 33k. - DSDP_DonExplorerfrelsang.....As many stated, it won't be a rocket, but on flat highways and small rolling hills you'll do fine. Climbing large hills it will struggle, especially towing, and you'll probably be limited to about 35-45 mph. The reality is that you most likely will only spend about 5% of your time or less climbing grades, unless you live out west. So for those few times you'll be climbing, you'll add a few minutes to your drive.
With all that said, I have only one concern about your choice. There are many kits for increasing power that can really make that engine run, but most of those kits are designed for the Allison 3000. We have friends with the Allison 2500 in a Monaco Caymann and they have been very disappointed in the fact that there haven't been any good power kits for that transmission. It just won't handle the increased torque.
Only you know if you're going to be satisfied with the power and torque, but if you're the type that is always wanting more power, this trans may be an issue.
