Winnebago Outlook 2007

I'm considering purchasing a 2007 Winnebago Outlook. It has only 8000 miles on it does anyone know why they changed the name from Minnie Winnie to Outlook?

And does anyone have any information about this model it's a 29B.
is it a good class C to purchase? Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about this unit?
thank you so much for all your information!
  • Name change, possible because of a change in trim levels, but can't say for sure.
We have had our 06 29b for 7 yrs now, bought new in May of 07. Only one major problem with the coach portion, living room slide shaft on the motor had split lengthwise, service depart said that they had never seen a failure like this before, (defect in metal shaft). and on the Ford side, a leaking pinion seal.
Just regular maintenance, especially checking the caulking on the roof, major point to check is where the fibreglass roof panel fits into the sidewall extrusion. After 5 years we found several cracks. When talking to our dealer/salesperson, we told them that you sold us a unit that suits our needs and has virtually no problems wo why trade.
We found that everything is usable when the slides are in, tight getting between sofa and dinette, but usable. Can' hang feet over end of bed, and I have to climb over DW to get to my side of bed, but once in we are comfortable.

at 7 years old carefully check out tires, for date and cracking. If it is the original owner selling,(8000 miles) the tire may look like new, but will need replacing, that era of Michelins had a history of cracking. Also check generator for hours of use and does it work,
  • One of the nice features of W products is the info like the orig brochures, wiring diagrams, specs etc are online. Type/copy your topic in search and use the W site.

We have an 06 W Aspect and we are very pleased with the quality and attention to details.

  • Hi and thank you for all the nice information you people have been giving me on the Winnebago Outlook. As far as the slides splitting how did they fix that or could they fix it? And the generator on the unit I have has only 58 hours on it and it looks like it's original mileage because I looked at the gas pedal and the brake pedal which looked pretty new. I will check the tires though and the date on them.
  • Beverly and Ken can I ask you what you paid for the 2007 Outlook new? They want 43,000 for this one with 8000 miles on it. They were asking 49,999 but I told him that's all I had is 43,000 so they accepted my offer. is that a good price? Do you think so?

The dealer told me the guy paid 66,000 2 years ago , but what did they go for new?
    thank you so much.
  • I'm pretty sure they didn't just change the name from Minnie Winnie to Outlook. They are just different lines/models in the Winnebago family. There have been years when Winnebago offered an Outlook as well as a Minnie Winnie.
NADA shows it with around an $85,000 MSRP when new, with no options taken into consideration. It probably sold for somewhere around 75% of MSRP - new.
  • I have a 2007 Winnebago Outlook 31C and can say nothing bad about it. We love it. Name change - because Winnebago wanted to. It has been changed again, at least once since the Outlook.
  • I called Winnebago and they said they changed it because of marketing reasons.
  • Congratulations on your purchase. 8000 miles is light for a 6yr old unit but entirely possible if used only for short trips, or light usage. Generator 58hrs, also light, but if starts and runs smooth, you won't have any problems, just exercise it regularly, Onan recommends 2hrs a month under a load.
Follow this link Winnebago, for lots more info on your unit.

  • Never understand Winnebago (nor Jayco) model line changes, but it usuaully has to do with market repositioning. Sometimes a name disappears for a while and comes back on something completely different.

29B was never a MinnieWinnie/Sundancer, from introduction it was Minnie/Spirit, Winnebago's C entry lines, which were positioned to compete with Jayco midrange, F-R, FourWinds-Chateau-Dutchmen upscale lines.

Names change when Winnebago introduced a lower cost construction to compete in the entry price market, Minnie models went into the now upscale Outlook line, MinnieWinnie and Sundancer models disappeared.

Marketing reasons. Note also, at the same time F-R took the Sunseeker more upscale, Jayco dropped their entry Escapade, so they had different ideas about where the market was going.
