I've got a 91 winnebago chieftain, and the sewer connection is a pain. The connector is angled down slightly ( presumably to allow 'easier access to connect the hose through the access hole in the bottom) but it seemed to be a very tight fit between the outlet and edge of the compartment for any of the connectors I found. I seem to always have a problem getting a good seal. I believe it's unchanged from the factory, but I'm not sure how to get a good seal. Do these outlets wear?? Is there any tight 90 degree couplings out there? i tried a 'normal 90 but theres not enough room for it... Any suggestions?

My outlet swivels/turns up and down so it's easy to align with compartment outlet hole. Doesn't yours???

I use a clear 45 degree elbow on ours. Serves two purposes....easier to connect the sewer hose during setup and allows for a visual inspection of the waste water during dumping and washing out the tanks. I believe I bought the connector at Camping World. For a tight fit I purchased a sheet of gasket material (rubber) from an auto supply store and cut out my own gasket to fit between the fittings. More of an insurance policy than anything else but so far it has never leaked.

There wasn't enough room for that... But now that it can be rotated , it easily drops straight down through the access... All is good..

Ha! THANK YOU!! It actually does rotate! Can't believe I never knew that! It would have saved me countless frustrating attempts to get a good seal! This forum is worth its proverbial weight in gold!

My Coachmen has the exact same dual dump fitting as your Winnie, and it does rotate, albeit with a bit of pressure. If yours is really stuck, try loosening the four bolts on each valve just slightly.

Ya know I never really tried to turn it either. I know it doesn't turn easily but maybe if I put a little force behind it.. Something to try I guess. I know that the original chieftain brochure, it shows the outlet in the general direction mine is...

The access in the bottom is maybe 6x6 or 8x8. I'll have to measure next time I'm at the RV. That cover is pinned and rotates out of the way....

Where does yours rotate?

That looks just like mine and mine rotates. Yours appears lower than mine. how large is the hole covered up with the square?
