winterize questions

Question

Got done pumping in the pink stuff in the lines after by passing the water heater in my Winnebago. I thought all was good and wife says do we need to dump the tanks. We have only 1/4 black and gray tank and like to have at least have 3/4 . Can I just hook up the hose and run water in the tanks or would that mess up lines and have to do it all over. I could just put the hose in the stool and run it till it gets close to full then put some of the pink stuff in the black tank and stool . It would be easer to just hook up the hose but not sure if this would mess things up .

IF you hook up hose to city water connection it has to go thru same plumbing lines you just winterized.

If you have a black tank flush connection...that goes directly to black tank only

No flush connection........hose down toilet

Also can fill sinks and drain....that goes directly to grey tank

After dumping waste tanks......
some anti-freeze down toilet and sink/shower drains.
anti-freeze helps waste tank dump valves and in sink/shower 'P' traps

Thanks I think I will use the hose down the black tank method. How much in each tank 1/2 a gallon black 1/2 gallon gray sound good or not that much.

Short answer: YES.Long answer: Two ways to add water to the black tank1: use the tank flusher if one is installed on your RV2: With the water pump OFF, simply hold the hose over the toilet while holding the flush valve open.. If you use this method after dumping and rinsing the tank for the winter, you will need to add some more pink to the toilet, add a pint to the black tank too.  (Same path) .

Leave some pink stuff in the toilet inch is enough it will keep the top end of toilet seal happy.
