We picked up our , new to us , 08 Fleetwood Bounder 39P 4 days ago . Today I went over to prepare it for the winter and after hours of trying , I can't seem to get any pressure out of the fresh water pump . When I turn it on it runs constantly but builds very little pressure and does not shut off . When I try to use the winterizing attachment connected to the pump and put the end of the line in the antifreeze container it will not suck any fluid . I'm thinking that the pump is at fault ,any suggestions ?

Is the bottle of AF higher than than the connection? If not it should be....

Pour a cup full of antifreeze down the tube...you must prime the pump

Also valve must be in correct posistion....

I had that problem once. I refilled the water tank a third full to make sureI had enough to pump. It took the pump about 1 minute to pump water. I had agood air lock or bubble in the system. I then drained the water, by-passed thewater heater, and added 3 gallons of pink to the fresh water tank. I then ranthe faucets till I had pink coming out of all of them. This also takes care ofthe drain traps. Good luck, it might just be an air lock.Brian

lot easier to use a small funnel and add anti freeze into the suction hose than go through all the trouble of putting water in the fresh water tank then drain it and add three gallons of anti freeze into the fresh water tank which is not the ideal thing to do.

I did try to use the suction hose but the pump would not suck the AF from the container even though it was running . I'm thinking that possibly the pump is the problem .

I had same problem last week when winterizing using the pump bypass Kit. I opened a faucet while pump was trying to prime and gave it about 30 sec and started flowing. I think that by opening the faucet it allowed enough air out to relieve enough pressure to allow the pump to start sucking.

Probably nothing wrong with the pump. More than likely just needs primed as stated above. It won't suck the fluid out of the bottle until its picked up prime. Use one of the suggestions above to prime and it should work fine.

Most of the time when that happens to me, I put my finger on the end of the hose until I feel a vacuum then it works. Don't ask me why but it has worked for me. But like other have posted that make sure all of your valves are in the proper position.;)

Make sure you only use RV antifreeze.

Your pump is probably OK.
Open the closest faucet.

Prime pump by pouring antifreeze or water into the pickup line.

One trick is if you have enough "in" line push almost all into the AF bottle put your thumb over the end pull it out and hook that end into the "in" side of the pump. This may siphon enough so it will prime the pump.
