I wanted to report back to you now that I've had a chance to use my Nuwave PIC. I cooked steaks in a skillet (was able to sear them) and they were so good and juicy! Now I'm making chilli in my Le Cruset pot. I love the fact that I can control the temperature so exactly! I am very pleased with my Nuwave Induction Burner!

Cooking on induction requires a pan that is magnetic on the bottom or you need something between the unit and the pot that is magnetic. Not all stainless will work, a magnet must stick to the bottom. The only surefire cookware is cast iron and carbon steel, both work great.
As far a blocking with something like plastic, it ain't gonna happen. Plastic, cloth, paper, etc won't effect the heating.

Does your coffee pot have a copper bottom? The copper keeps it from working.

I would be using an induction pot, but using this disposable liner for easy cleanup.

I'm not sure that I understand what you want to do. Do you want to put a crockpot on the PIC? You can only use induction ready cookware. Stainless steel, cast iron, enameled iron, etc. Aluminum or stoneware would not work. If you want to use a liner in a induction ready pot, I'm not sure if it would work. The electro magnetic energy heats the food, it may not penetrate the plastic.
