Pellet grills

Has anyone used the portable pellet grills in their camper? I have a larger model at home and love it and was thinking about getting one of the smaller models for the camper instead of cooking over gas. Both green mountain grills and traeger make smaller more portable models for this purpose.
  • I have a texas elite and it is just too much for me to lift around so it would have to be a very small one. When I go to a full hook up park I take an electric with me. so much easier than lifting weights
  • Even the smallest ones are to heavy for me. I would like one at home.
  • Recently bought the Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett. I really like it. Holds a temperature very well. I even made cookies in it just to see if I could.

It is a little heavy, but folds up small enough to easily fit in the bay. It will handle most of your grilling/smoking/baking needs very well.
  • I also have a Davey Crockett. I really like it. It folds up to a pretty small size and the feet become the carrying handle. Works well.

You might want to consider the wireless option as that allows you to be somewhere else and still monitor the meat temp (via the cooking probe) or change the cooking temps, using your phone.

I should have mentioned that. The wifi option costs 50.00. Well worth the little extra. Works Like a charm.
  • The Davy Crockett is the model I am leaning towards. Have a larger traeger at home but like the extra cooking capacity of the green mountain for the smaller grills. Don't know if I need the wifi controller but it looks cool so will probably go with it.
