auto turn on on my jensen tv

Every morning at 9:30 my TV comes on automatically, I have tried scrolling through all the options on the remote and have not been able to find out how to turn this option off. Any Ideas?

  • Jensen 26” LCD TV - 110v JE2608 had a software flaw that turns them on automatically when left plugged in.

Jensen (ASA) sent me a circuit board to connect and flash the corrected software.

That fixed it for me. The other alternative is to unplug it at night.

Since then my Jensen radio/CD died just out of warranty and recently the TV 'locks up' so that no inputs work until I unplug it and plug it in again.

That's 3 failures on my 2 Jensen products in 4 years. No more Jensen for me.

The old paradigm about 12 volt TV's vs home TV's is pretty dead. Most TV's I see come with a transformer in the cord that converts 110 to 12 volt. I bought home TV's and replaced the cord to a straight shot cord. I now have 12 volt TV's
Did plugging direct into 12 volt fix your auto-on problem????

  • Some of the Jensen stereo/DVD centers have alarm clock functions, I know ours does
  • According to the Jensen manual for their 12V televisons they do not have an alarm function. The only auto-on feature I saw was if you have an HDMI CEC device attached the TV will automatically turn on when the device is activated. You can turn off that feature by going to the televisions "Picture" menu and scrolling down to the HDMI CEC option and turning off the "TV Auto Power" selection. If you have a device attached via an HDMI port (such as a DVD or stereo) make sure it does not have an alarm function and if it does make sure it's turned off.
