I remember someone mentioning a good deal on a cell phone WiFi unit.

Wasn’t a thread but mentioned in a thread.

We have Verizon but would like to add an ATT option.

The Notify Moderator link still will not work but this is an ad for a non-AT&T site. Link should be removed.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

What’s wrong with a Velocity hotspot?

There's nothing "wrong" with the original Velocity, it's just a very basic device that lacks many of the important features found in newer devices. It doesn't have any external antenna ports, so you can't connect it to an antenna; it only supports 2X carrier aggregation, it doesn't cover all of the AT&T bands and it can't simultaneously broadcast in 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. 5Ghz is faster and not prone to interference like 2.4Ghz is. However, if you have printers or older computers that can only connect to 2.4Ghz then you have to set the hotspot to broadcast in 2.4Ghz. Newer hotspots allow you to broadcast in both frequencies at the same time so each device can connect to what it uses best.

For anyone interested in understanding how newer features can really increase performance, watch this video: Hotspot features

I personally wouldn't purchase an outdated device when newer devices are readily available and affordable.

We have used an AT&T wifi hot spot for years with good results in most cases. We get decent streaming as long as there is a decent signal. Also we have an unlimited use plan.

Are you wanting a cell phone plan or a separate physical hotspot plan?

A separate non Verizon hotspot plan. We have Verizon phones.
Would like an ATT network compatible no talk plan/device.

OTR Mobile No contract, no throttle or network management, unlimited plan. Great performace with the ATT Nighthawk (Netgear MR1100). Buy the Nighthawk from them or bring your own.

Works on all native AT&T towers in the U.S.

I don't see anything about AT&T but this may help some:
https://www.fmca.com/index.php?option=com_fmcatechconnect&view=home

I'd give AT&T a try but their customer support is absolutely among the worst experiences I've ever had and don't want to put myself through anything like that again.

Smacking myself with a hammer hurt so I stopped as soon as I started.
