can't load microsoft updated

When DW and I both had to replace out laptops in the last year or so, we searched diligently until we found ones that still came with Windows 7. We did not want the windows 8.whatever that was then current. We certainly aren't going to jump to Windows 10.

I will have to check on the updates, though.

Win 10 is a joke IMHO. Upgrades to it and my display went to ****!,,all the text was blury and near impossible to read. No amount of changing settings helped, so after two weeks I was back to 7. Everybody tried to tell meit was me and I just did not have settings right. Im not some geek, but neither am I ignorant about computers. I know how to change settings. Win 10 is really limited on what it will you to change. It wants to automatically set everything for you. Might try win10 again next year after the first 8 or ten patches are released and see if my display board is compatible yet.

My Win 7 desktop wants to update to Win 10 as a critical update. I have 2 programs that I use daily that will not run under Win 10 without some minor manual changes. I am waiting for the 2 programs to be upgraded to Win 10 version sometime in Dec 2015.

I personally think that Microsoft is screwing with us again.

My two W7 laptops both stopped reporting that critical updates were pending about 6 weeks ago. When I went to look manually, there were 45 pending.

I had mine set to tell me about updates but let me initiate them manually.

I wonder how many thousands of people aren't getting updates for 7 now and don't realize it ??
